In 2024 we're teaming up with the National Trust Rangers at Sandscale Haws to offer a unique guided nature tour and conservation experience as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
These days will run from 10am to 3pm. On average we will cover around 3 miles (5km) with plenty of stops for photos and wildlife watching.
We'll take a guided walking tour of this fabulous coastal sand dune reserve, home to a cacophony of butterflies and wildflowers, including rare species of orchid, fungi and the charismatic natterjack toad. We'll explore the various habitats across the reserve including wetlands, scrub, sand dunes and the shoreline. Part of the day will involve dedicated time with one of the Rangers carrying out some conservation work on the reserve - this will range from flora and fauna surveys through to helping with management of the vegetation to enhance the special habitats on site.
£55 per person, includes a vegetarian picnic lunch of tasty wholesome local produce.
