About

Located just a five minute walk from the centre of Windermere, Antrona is a contemporary and stylish apartment with a quirky feel that has been created to offer a good standard of accommodation in a superb location.

With a spacious open plan living room and kitchen area and two comfortable bedrooms, Antrona offers a social place for friends and family to relax, or as a romantic retreat for two.

With the villages or Windermere and Bowness within walking distance, guests can enjoy the wonderful and varied range of bars, pubs, restaurants and bistros as well as unique and interesting shops and access to a wealth of Lake District attractions and the great outdoors.

Orrest Head, School Knott and Brantfell offer lovely walks with rewarding views direct from your front door. If you are feeling slightly more adventurous you can head into the high fells of the Troutbeck or Kentmere Valleys, enjoy mountain biking in Grizedale Forest or even a number of water sports or open water swimming in Lake Windermere. If all of this sounds too energetic, why not head to the Lake to enjoy a romantic evening cruise!

Accommodation in detail

Steps lead to a raised decked approach to the front door of Antrona, formally an old grain store and reputedly the birth place of a famous Lakeland kitchenware company which now has stores across the globe!

The front door opens onto the large open plan lounge with a cosy log burning stove, plush sofas, large smart TV and sociable round oak dining room table.

An ingeniously designed kitchen in an elevated position overlooks the living space, making it a sociable spot to cook and prepare dinner.

Climbing the stairs into the mezzanine level, there is a welcoming master bedroom with a king size bed, sloping ceiling and Velux window.

Accessed directly from the lounge is the bright and airy second bedroom, with twin beds and the modern family bathroom with WC, hand basin and bath with overhead shower.

Step outside onto the decking area to the front of the property where you can sit with your morning coffee on the bench and watch the world go by.

The owners welcome one small, well behaved dog. Due to the location of the property it does not have its own garden but a few minutes' walk from Antrona there is a lovely walk through the woods, at Sheriff's Wood, or Queens Park is also close by.

There is on street parking close by.

Location

Antrona is easily reached by car or by train and perfectly placed to explore Windermere village, Bowness and the delights of Lake Windermere without even having to use a car.

Windermere village is a lovely place to make yourself at home, with lazy cafes for breakfast, plenty of shops for stocking up the kitchen, traditional Lake District pubs and several restaurants to choose from. A number of superb walks begin nearby, including the easy ascent of Orrest Head which promises spectacular views of Lake Windermere from the top.

Walk or drive less than a mile down the road and you'll reach bustling Bowness, a popular Lake District holiday destination offering sophisticated shopping, a range of restaurants and even a lively nightlife - from the cosy 'Hole int Wall' traditional pub to the trendy Bodegas & Sol tapas bar. From Bowness Bay, you can catch a Windermere Lake Cruise to Ambleside or Lakeside - what a way to explore without driving!

For touring by car, you'll find Windermere a great place to start. A famously scenic stretch of the A591 leads to Ambleside, Rydal Water and historic Grasmere. Branch off into the Troutbeck Valley and take one of the most breath-taking scenic drives in the Lake District - over Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater with a stop at the acclaimed Queen's Head for lunch.
