Accommodation in detail

The vestibule offers plenty of space for coats and boots before entering into the open plan living area with shaker style fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A comfortable sofa and armchairs are arranged around the feature fire place with cosy log burning stove, and there are views from the window seat to the pretty garden beyond. A family dining table makes the whole ground floor area a very social space.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms both with ensuite shower rooms, the master bedroom, overlooking the garden and the hills beyond offers a king size double bed and the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds.

Heading outside there is a south facing cottage garden with garden furniture and great views. On street parking is available on the street to the rear of the cottage. The are some steps down to the back door of the property.

Location

Appletree Cottage is only a ten minute stroll from the centre of Ambleside. Ambleside village is located on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. The surrounding scenery of Lakeland Fells is dramatic, and lends a stunning backdrop to the Lakeland stone buildings and attractive streets of the village. One of the Lake District's most sophisticated communities, Ambleside village is alive with interesting local businesses, shops and acclaimed Lake District restaurants and pubs.

Stroll to the shops or out for a coffee, then wander to Waterhead Pier to take a cruise on the Lake. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly from Waterhead Pier (just outside the village centre) and provide a scenic and car free route to Bowness and Lakeside. A fabulous way for all to explore.

For walking, Ambleside is renowned as a hub for enthusiasts. Numerous famous routes begin close by, and a wide range of strolls take in breath-taking scenery without having to travel too far. Ambleside is well stocked with outdoor shops and route information is widely available.

By night, you'll find plenty to entertain. Catch a film at one of the two cinemas, enjoy a drink on the shores of the lake or sample some of our region's finest dining?all just a stroll from your doorstep!

The A591 winds its way from Ambleside to Grasmere and Keswick, branching off to Coniston and such delights as the Langdale Valley and Hawkshead
