Castle Head combines the charm of a historic building with the beautiful Lake District countryside. We are situated a mere 20 minute drive from Lake Windemere which gives us easy access to stunning mountainous and coastal environments within a day trip.
Schools come to us for our ability to run courses in Biology, Geography and Renewable Resources. We can adapt to any Field Studies required in the National Curriculum. This can be tailored to your desired level of involvement - some universities will use us a base for food and accommodation while they explore independently.
What makes us unique is how large we are - we can host up to 160 people. We have a large indoor hall, as well as two smaller common rooms, so plenty of indoor space. Our extensive grounds are perfect for wide games as well as camping. The picturesque River Winster winds past the house.
We are popular amongst summer camps and youth groups, as well as yoga and meditation retreats. We will tailor you trip to your specific needs, let us know what level of involvement you want from us and we'll build your perfect trip!
