Leave the M6 Motorway at J40 sign posted Penrith
At the roundabout take the A66 exit heading East towards Appleby/Scotch Corner
After 0.9 miles at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A686 sign posted Alston
After approx 5 miles you will reach the metal bridge, over the bridge is the village of Langwathby
Continue on the A686 and you will enter the village of Melmerby
Just before the end of the village, the A686 takes a right bend heading up to Hartside and over to Alston. Instead of heading right, take a left turn towards Gamblesby. Follow the road for half a mile and you will come to Todd Hills Hall Farm and Gill Beck Barn on your left. The parking for Gill Beck Barn is through the second entrance on the left, past the sandstone properties.
