Leave the M6 Motorway at J40 sign posted Penrith
At the roundabout take the A66 exit heading East towards Appleby/Scotch Corner
After 0.9 miles at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A686 sign posted Alston
After approx 5 miles you will reach the metal bridge, over the bridge is the village of Langwathby
Continue on the A686 and you will enter the village of Melmerby
As you enter the village, there is a sandstone wall on the left, take the next turn left and then left again
Directly ahead Melmerby Hall & Stag Cottage are located through the sandstone archway directly ahead
For Kirkbride Hall follow the road past the archway to Melmerby Hall around a right bend and Kirkbride Hall is located on the left just before St. John's Church
