About

Every ingredient for a perfect Lake District holiday, family or friends, at any time of year. Through spectacular full wall windows and from a slightly elevated position, Lakeside View gazes out over Bowness Bay and Lake Windermere to the famous Lakeland Fells beyond. Only a stroll away are the vibrant village centre, the boating activities of the bay, and the contemporary high street of the Lake District's most popular destination.

It's impossible not to breathe a sigh of relaxation in Lakeside View's first floor lounge; gasp at the view, sink into leather sofas and relax in good company. There's ample space for family or sociable meals, and access to a balcony from the elegant dining area.

Accommodation in detail

Private parking for 3 cars in this central location. Entrance hall with downstairs shower room and WC, leading to a private ground floor double bedroom. Access to the garage and utility, with space for bikes, canoes etc. Upstairs to first floor lounge, overlooking Lake Windermere and Bowness Bay. A well-equipped kitchen is open to the dining area, which has access to a balcony.

Upstairs again to the master en-suite bedroom with king-size leather sleigh bed, a further double bedroom and a twin or king size bedroom.

Location

Bowness is undoubtedly the liveliest Lake District holiday destination; a contemporary Lakeland village built around a picturesque bay on the eastern shores of Windermere. Bowness Bay is alive with boating activities on Lake Windermere, from row boats and hire boats to elegant racing yachts from the Royal Windermere Yacht Club, and also the famous steamers which depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside. Windermere Golf Club is also just outside Bowness village, and the scenic course is a must for fans of the game.

The landscapes surrounding Bowness are stunning; if the views from your holiday home aren't enough then head up to Gummers How for a short but exhilarating walk with spectacular views from the summit. On your way down, sample one of the acclaimed Lake District country pub restaurants in the Lyth Valley - just to the east of Lake Windermere. There are many family attractions in Bowness, including the World of Beatrix Potter attraction - a must for those with young children. You'll find mini-golf and tennis on the lake shore, and plenty of choice for family friendly evenings. Hearty pub meals, contemporary restaurants, the Royalty Cinema and Old Laundry Theatre will leave you spoilt for choice.

From Bowness, it's easy to travel around and visit other popular locations in the National Park. Bus tours depart from the village, and you're very close to the A591 - the main route into the heart of the Lakes.
