You are here: Home > Accommodation > Stag Cottage
Stag Cottage is situated in the grounds at Melmerby Hall just through the sandstone entrance archway and has 3 double ensuite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 6 guests.
There is a bedroom and ensuite shower room on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms, including the one on the ground floor, may be converted to twin beds upon request. The first floor Master Bedroom has an antique five foot bed and an ensuite bathroom with bath and a separate shower and dressing area. The entrance hallway leads to a spacious and cosy Sitting Room with log burning stove and padded window seats and the through to a Dining Room. The Breakfasting Kitchen has granite worktops, dishwasher, washer, dryer and french doors leading to a sandstone terrace with a walled and gated garden.
Stag Cottage is set in walled front and rear gardens in the village of Melmerby which has a little village post office tea room shop, a great and reasonably priced antique shop and The Old Village Bakery which serves breakfasts, lunches, coffees and has a lovely ladies fashion, interior and gift shop upstairs called 'Hollberrie' which is definitely worth a visit.
Melmerby has a wonderful village pub called The Shepherd's Inn which is very welcoming and serves delicious food. All these are within an easy walk of the cottage across the village green. There are some great country pubs for dining (The Fetherston Arms & the Crown) which are a short journey away in Kirkoswald or nearby at The Shepherd's Inn in Langwathby.
