The Art Lounge is in a Grand Georgian country property, fortunate to command a wonderful position overlooking the village of Branthwaite within easy reach of the Lake District and the fabulous West Cumbria Coast. Located on the fringe of the English Lakes National Park (a UNESCO world Heritage site), ideally situated near the Western Lakes of Ennerdale, Buttermere and only four miles to Loweswater, or equally the Solway coast.
This is a truly unique venue with very individual rooms and a setting of escape, luxury and relaxation with an artistic twist. Each guest room is named after a famous artist and based on their style or era of their paintings. There is art featured throughout the property for guests to enjoy, a destination escape for the walker, cyclist or culture vulture.
The location provides scope for a wealth of out door activities, 20 minutes to Whinlatter forest park and visitor centre and 25 minutes to Keswick via Bassenthwaite lake, also some award wining stretches of Solway coast and beaches. The Art Lounge is on many popular cycle routes and provides cycle lock up facilities and on-site guest laundry and drying room. There are also frequent creative workshops run in the gallery for a leisurely break exploring your artistic side, Calligraphy, water colour painting and Botanical painting and more. Or you could just relax and enjoy a fabulous afternoon tea in the elegant dining room or beautiful gardens.
Being a short distance from local market town of Cockermouth provides a wonderful selection of quality dining venues, catering to all tastes, along with some fabulous independent shops to explore. There are also fascinating nearby Harbour towns of Maryport and Whitehaven, with museums and indoor attractions for our inevitable lake District rainy days. Steeped in luxury, with fabulous award-winning Sealy beds and a hearty Cumbrian breakfast a welcome awaits you in the best of locations for your Stay.
