Set in the pretty farming village of Beckermet in the Western Lakes, the pet-friendly cottage is within two minutes' walk of a traditional village pub, and minutes' drive from a plethora of hostelries with real ales and roaring fires, casual/fine dining restaurants, shops and attractions. Nearby are the most spellbinding areas of the Lake District. The highest peaks including Scafell Pike, can be accessed from Wastwater, a 20-minute drive from the cottage, whilst the quiet shores of Ennerdale and Loweswater offer tranquil views and scenic walks. For contrasting landscape, the unspoilt Cumbrian coast is just three miles away with its dramatic sandstone cliffs and quiet beaches at St Bees Head, whilst the Georgian 'gem' town of Whitehaven and historic Egremont are nearby.
The cottage is more of a tree in a house than a house in a tree (we're not sure how it got there!). This spectacular natural 'sculpture' provides the focal point of the living room.
Inside accommodation comprises a romantic spacious master bedroom with cathedral-style, vaulted ceiling, king-sized bed and comfortable seating areas with garden views. Downstairs there's a small, well-equipped bedroom with full-size bunk beds. The cottage will comfortably sleep four but there's also a luxurious sofa bed so a potential to sleep six (as long as you’re good friends!). The rustic, fully equipped kitchen adjoins the cosy living room with a comfortable sofa and log burning stove set in a traditional fireplace. Leading from the living room is an attractive conservatory dining area, looking out over the patio. The long, country garden on several levels provides many places for barbeques, retreat and relaxation with a large pond and peaceful pastoral views.
The Tree House is packed with traditional features, but also boasts the most up-to-date technology including a 4k TV, free Prime Video/music, superfast broadband and Amazon Echo.
