About

Waternook

Built in the 17th Century, Waternook is an exclusive presidential super-luxury self catering property, with an array of luxury concierge services offering 5-Star opulence. Situated in the heart of The Lake District National Park on the edge of the beatuiful Ullswater lake, Waternook is quite simply outstanding and luxurious in every way; a truly restorative rural retreat that sits harmoniously within the natural landscape.

Waternook can accommodate 12 people within 6 luxury suites. It occupies a  secluded setting within 26 acres of private grounds with sublime terraced gardens commanding simply breath-taking views of lake and mountain. This dramatic setting is complimented by half a mile of Ullswater shoreline, and a boathouse with private jetty.

Your experience at Waternook is further enhanced by a lake view hot tub, private cinema room with state of the art technology, lounge and reading rooms; state of the art kitchen and dining terrace with awe-inspiring views. How about a Spa and Wellness Sanctuary? There's one here for you, featuring Laconium and bar area leading onto the Yoga terrace.

Looking out or indeed in the fresh-air gardens, you could easily imagine the mountains on display have been carefully arranged to provide you  with the most breath-taking views.

This luxury self-catering home stay will inspire even the most discerning guest. The sleek and sophisticated interior styling and perfectionist attention to detail in Waternook ensure that whether you are celebrating a happy event, searching for the perfect setting for an intimate wedding reception or just spending time with your favourite people, here is a magical treat delivering sheer luxury to match your high expectations. Every detail has been thought about, from the finest Brintons carpets underfoot, to supremely comfortable made to order Vi-Spring mattresses, using the finest quality British materials and craftsmanship.

Concierge services from a selection of quality providers are available to complement your stay. These include private chefs and butlers, to beauty treatments, personalised yoga lessons and helicopter tours. Of course, you can opt to self cater if you prefer, but if you feel like taking it easy and being pampered, everything is available, just ask.

The Great Barn

The Great Barn, accommodating 8 people within 4 luxury suites, exudes five star luxury and overlooks Ullswater Lake in the English Lake District National Park, arguably one of the most enviable views in the Lake District National Park. Treat yourself to a truly restorative treat within the natural landscape at The Great Barn.

Set within 26 acres of private grounds with ½ mile of lake shoreline enjoying uninterrupted panoramic lake views across Ullswater to the Lakeland Fells beyond, this quintessential 17th century converted barn has seductively leapt into the 21st century with true flair and sophistication, providing outstanding luxury and quality.

Taking advantage of its original design as a Bank Barn, The Great Barn fits comfortably into the landscape and its split level layout exploits both its secluded position and walls of glass giving you superb views of the stunning landscape whatever the season.

Whether you are celebrating a happy event, searching for the perfect place for an intimate wedding or just spending time with your favourite people, the Great Barn offers a truly magnificent and memorable setting. The interior design is luxurious and inspiring, incorporating the latest state of the art technology.
