Experience the thrill of leaning back and abseiling down a vertical rock face! Abseiling is both a challenging and rewarding activity, especially if you have a healthy fear of heights! Our big abseils are set within spectacular Lake District scenery and are impressive to behold. Under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors, you'll harness up and descend on specialist abseiling ropes down to the bottom of the rock. Your instructor will have you safely attached to a second safety rope so you can descend with confidence.

Abseil the mighty walls of Hodge Close
Hodge Close is a spectacular 85ft high disused green slate quarry in the Tilberthwaite Valley. Popular with rock climbers, adventurers, sightseers and divers who love to explore its wealth of submerged tunnels.
Experience the adrenaline of abseiling down the massive walls into the depths of the Quarry.
Our experienced instructors will be on hand to offer advice and keep you safe.
Suitable for: Age 10+
Fitness Level: Low to Moderate
Duration: Half-day - 3hrs

Explore the hidden gem of Cathedral Quarry
Explore Cathedral Quarry - a disused Green Slate Quarry situated just outside the village of Coniston. Situated 25 minutes walk through picturesque woodland a short drive away from the village of Coniston. Explore the magnificent cavern and tunnels. Carry on to the top where you'll see fabulous views over little Langdale then, if you dare, abseil 150 ft down into the depth of the quarry. Your fully qualified and experienced instructor will guide you down every step of the way.
