You must have good technical knowledge and experience on a variety of systems including:

Experience of VOIP telephony would also be useful.
You'll be a clear communicator, delivering assistance to staff both in person and using remote assistance, triaging issues and escalating where necessary.
Other tasks will include monitoring systems including backups, compiling monthly performance reports and planning and delivering office moves and relocations as needed.
The Authority operates across 10 sites in the National Park and a full driving licence will be required.
What’s it like to work here?
The ICT service is comprised of a team of five including GIS, systems analyst and Database analyst managed by the ICT Service Manager.
The team works closely together and you will be dealing with everyone as a first line of support on the ICT helpdesk for our staff.
We are currently working from home, with some time at our office base in Kendal, Cumbria. You’ll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network when working remotely. In early 2022, we’ll be moving towards a more structured blended working approach, combining home-working and days at the office.
To accomplish this, we have recently implemented MS Teams and you will be assisting with the roll-out and some basic training of staff.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Helpdesk – providing support to users as required and meeting the helpdesk SLA
- Managing and monitoring System updates
- Providing ICT induction to new staff, frequently at their main site of work
- Site visits to install new systems, troubleshoot or otherwise maintain
- Compiling monthly helpdesk performance indicators
- Work on projects as required.
This opportunity would suit someone who can demonstrate experience in the ICT systems listed above with good communication skills and is a natural problem solver.
You will be able to prioritise your own work and communicate with staff in a clear manner avoiding jargon.
Training in specific systems will be given but an understanding of underlying technology is required.
Working with us, you’ll enjoy:
- Generous Pension Scheme
- Electric car and Cycle to Work schemes
- Flexible working to suit you
- Paid time off so you can volunteer
- Subsidised healthcare scheme
See our website for a complete list of our employee benefits.
For an informal chat, please contact Frank Blackburn (ICT Services Manager) at Frank.firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re happy to talk about flexible working – let us know if you want to find out more.
