About

Meet the Alpacas at The Lakes Distillery… and so it was once upon a time when The Lakes Distillery was the perfect place to live alpacaly ever after! Situated on the River Derwent in a dramatic location, it is surrounded by incredible views of the northern most fells. The Lakes Distillery is the perfect place to come along and Meet The Alpacas! Every Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm (with extra dates during school holidays) you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the alpacas and their babies. This activity lasts 30 minutes and involves hand feeding the girls on their home field, spending time getting to know the herd and learning lots from the guide. New babies can usually be seen in late Spring/Summer but always check with us first. Suitable for all ages and abilities, we can takes groups of up to 30 people, all visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

If you're looking for something else, we have other activities you can choose:

1. Walk with our Alpacas at The Lingholm Estate and paddle in the Lake

2. Meet and Greet our Alpaca boys at The Lingholm Estate

3. Walk in Whinlatter Forest with our Alpacas and enjoy views of Keswick

4. Trek with our Llamas from the Newlands Valley with amazing views of the Lakes

The Lingholm Estate also offers Afternoon Teas that can be purchased as part of your walk activity. We have a selection of Gift Vouchers for each activity so if you can't decide, head to our website for more details.

We are a Social Enterprise that rescues and rehomes Alpacas and Llamas, their health and welfare is our main priority. We look forward to sharing our Woolly Army with you.
