Nestled in the heart of Graythwaite Estate, 5,000 acres of managed woodland, parkland and lake frontage, is our bushcraft base where we love to welcome those seeking an outdoor experience.
We specialise in running relaxed sessions in a fun and informative environment. Following an introduction by your instructor you'll head into the woods whilst chatting about the local surroundings, nature and the origins of bushcraft techniques. You'll focus on three of the essentials; shelter, fire and food. You'll build a shelter and learn how to use a flint and steel to make a fire. Once the fire's roaring you'll boil the ghillie kettle to make hot drinks and toast marshmallows. Have you tried s'mores? Toasted marshmallows between chocolate digestives ... they're lip smackingly good. Nothing makes us happier than sharing the natural beauty of the great outdoors with guests.
Guests to Graythwaite Adventure can enjoy a variety of other awesome land and water-based experiences; 4x4 off-road driving, clay pigeon shooting, archery, axe throwing, air rifles, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, RIB boat tours and more. Experience : Explore : Escape.
Upon arrival at our 4x4 and Shooting Lodge, please make use of our free parking before meeting one of our team of experienced and friendly instructors. Following introductions, we'll head into the woods to the bushcraft base. The experience will include shelter building, fire lighting, kettle boiling and marshmallow toasting. We'll chat about the local environment, the woodland, what lives in the local habitat and ancient bushcraft techniques and how they've evolved over the years. We love sharing our knowledge and hope you leave us having gained some of that knowledge, and with an appetite for more. As with all our experiences, this will be private for your booking.
