Personalised Guided Walking Holidays
If you’d like to develop your fell walking skills, or if you simply enjoy exploring in the company of an experienced and knowledgeable local guide, our Personalised Guided Walking Holidays are for you. Our itineraries explore Borrowdale, the Central Fells and the Langdale Valley, with the ideal mix of walks with our resident guide and time to explore at your own pace. We design trips where you don’t need to drive - let us be in charge of logistics as you explore the low fells and central Lakeland mountains.
For your accommodation: in the north we’ve chosen our favourite hotels in market town of Keswick, and in the south you’ll be staying in the iconic valley of Great Langdale. Whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family or a small group of friends, we can help you to plan the perfect walking holiday.
Tailor-make your own Lake District Holiday
The breath-taking lakes and mountains of the UK’s oldest National Park are our home. Hiking, biking, climbing, sailing…this is where we spend our free time, and we’re the true experts when it comes to experiencing the beauty and grandeur of the Lake District.
Our imaginative holidays are organised with great care, and we offer more choice and greater flexibility than any other tour operator, combining the best activities with genuinely hand-picked accommodation.
Getting to know our suppliers has always been a crucial part of what we do – we feel it’s important to visit the cottages, hotels and B&Bs we recommend, and to have first-hand experience the activities and excursions we offer.

Lake District Self-Catering Holidays
Take a relaxing staycation in the historic market town of Keswick, nestled in the heart of the northern fells. There’s plenty to see and do: Keswick has an unrivalled selection of independent restaurants, traditional Lakeland pubs, outdoor shops, the world-famous Keswick Pencil Museum, the Theatre by the Lake and the delightful Alhambra Cinema.
You’ll have a chance to cruise Derwent Water on the lake’s famous pleasure launches, returning to the water under your own steam by kayak later in the week. For the more adventurous, you’ll ascend Skiddaw with our resident walking guide, and you’ll learn how to ghyll scramble: one of Lakeland’s most exciting outdoor pursuits. It’s also easy to add extra guided tours, a day’s mountain biking or a Go Ape session in the treetops of the Whinlatter Forest Park.
Romantic Breaks
Reconnect with nature and immerse yourself in the dramatic landscapes of the Lake District – the magnificent lakes and mountains which inspired the romantic poets of the 19th Century: Shelley, Keats, Coleridge, Southey and Wordsworth.
Your week begins high in the Whinlatter forest at the exclusive Cottage in the Wood – famous for it’s Michelin-starred restaurant showcasing the best Cumbrian regional produce. Next, you’ll head south to the village of Grasmere: Wordsworth’s former home where he captured the essence of rural tranquillity. You’ll end your stay on the peaceful shores of Ullswater – the poet’s original inspiration for his most famous work: ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’.
As with all our holidays, this is a flexible week – call us for a chat and we can help you to create the perfect Lake District Romantic Break.
Lake District Long Weekends
Relaxing and unwind on a long weekend in the Lakes. Divide your time between Keswick and the spectacularly located Kirkstile Inn, nestled between beautiful Loweswater and Crummock Water.
