About

The Lakes Mountaineer offers bespoke walking, scrambling and climbing days across the Lake District to famillies, individuals, clubs and groups.

Navigatin courses, climbing courses, fun days onthe hill or guided scrambles or mountain walks, the choice is yours.

Family Adventures:
Give the family an adventure you are sure to remember. Choose from three different days of activity, based around four different mountain sports - rock climbing, abseiling, scrambling and navigation (disguised as a treasure hunt to keep kids entertained and challenged).

Mini-Mountains: A full day of activities for families with kids 7+. Half the day will be spent climbing and abseiling, the rest on a treasure hunt (navigation). You'll return to your car between activities for a lunch break. £49/person for family of 5 for a full day of activities.
Mighty-Mountains: A more active day for families, with a climbing and abseiling session for half the day.  The other half day will be spent scrambling grade 1 routes in the mountains. (see description of scrambling below). £52/person for family of 5.
Mega-Mountains: The most active of the choices: 1 parent and 1 child scrambling adventure day, where we'll be doing harder scrambling routes. Please enquire for larger groups who require more than one guide (1 guide for every 2 people).

Please enquire via email or visit our website for more information.

Alternatively, drop us a lline to put together a set of activities to suit you and your time.

The Lakes Mountaineer also offers:

Scrambling:
Scrambling or mountaineering is an activity somewhere between walking and rock climbing. Part of a mountain journey, you regularly employ a rope for safety, and you get to some amazing places. Join The Lakes Mountaineer to learn the skills to go scrambling independently or get guided up some of the scrambling classics of the Lake District.

Mountain Walks:
If you have your eye on walking up a Wainwright, maybe even all of them, or if you want to scale England's highest peaks, then you are in good hands with The Lakes Mountaineer. Guided by a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and local guide, we can find the solitude, adventure or challenge that you are looking for.

Rock Climbing:
Single-pitch group days, multi-pitch experiences, or advanced instruction.
Whether this is the first time you put on a harness, or you are experienced climbers wanting to review and add to your skills, then The Lakes Mountaineer can offer a range of courses to suit your needs. Your time will be structured around your aims and experience.

Navigation:
The Lakes Mountaineer offers National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) Bronze and Silver award courses, aimed at building you up from absolute novice.  Each course is two days with an assessment element towards the end.

About The Lakes Mountaineer:
All our activities are run by Ben - a fully-insured, highly-qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor with over 25 years experience.
