Road Directions
From M6 jct 36, take A591 to The Lakes. Drive past Windermere to Ambleside following any signs to Grasmere/Keswick until passing Zeffirelli's cinema on the left. Then take right hand set of traffic lights. On main road turn sharp left immediately by the Tourist Office onto North Road. You will see the Silver Moon shop directly ahead. Above Stock is above Silver Moon, and its entrance is about 10 yards up Peggy Hill. You can park in the 1-hour temporary parking spots by the Tourist Information Centre, or directly in front of the property, while you unload. The main car park, in Rydal Road, is 300 yards away, up North Road and right at the bottom of Kirkstone Road. A permit for the car park and a clock for temporary parking spaces are in the hall of Above Stock.
Public Transport Directions
By public transport: Train to Windermere, then bus to Ambleside central bus station. It is 5 - 10 minutes walk from there. Ask for directions to the Tourist Information Centre or Salutation Hotel, and you will see Silver Moon directly ahead in North Road, when you get there. Above Stock is on top of Silver Moon, and its entrance is about 10 yards up Peggy Hill.
Or take a taxi from Windermere Station direct to Above Stock. It costs about £15.
