About

A stunning grade 1 listed Pele Tower dating back to the 13th century, Askham Hall has been transformed from a stately family abode into a unique and contemporary stylish retreat and restaurant. A luxurious, intimate, unpretentious home from home awaits.

With modern furnishings and fresh decor, whilst carefully retaining the charm and character of this historic house, Askham Hall is somewhere you can kick off your wellies at the front door and relax in down to earth, comfortable surroundings.

The emphasis is on the food and our Michelin-starred restaurant Allium offers an imaginative and creative dining style, using produce locally sourced from the 800 year old Lowther Estate. Please see our website for updated pricing for our 6-course tasting menu.

The cycle of life in the gardens and fields dictate our menus - we work with the seasons to grow, source and preserve the produce from our surrounding farms and woodland.

Awards include: 4AA Rosettes 2023, Michelin Star 2024, Cumbria Tourism’s 'Taste of Cumbria' finalist 2023, Taste Cumbria Finalist 2019, Taste of England Bronze 2018, Cumbria Family Business Awards Best Food and Drink Establishment 2018
