Gill works with Collage to create one off artworks and designs for textile print. In this workshop she will share the techniques she uses for you to create your own striking collage. You will start by making a set of painted, textured papers using a variety of media, including paints, pastels and watercolour pencils. We will then use these lovely textured papers to cut and assemble the collage.
Working with collage gives you the freedomm to explore colour combinations and composition, allowing you to reposition the motifs as you work. The collage will be based on an image that is personal to you, this could be a landscape, still life or image of your garden. Please bring an image to work from, either a photo, sketch or magazine cutting.
Please could you bring with you: A small pair of sharp scissors, and your image to work from.
Gill will bring a selection of paints, pastels, pencils and different weights of paper to work with as well as found papers such as old books and maps.
There will be a materials charge of £5 payable direct to the tutor. Homemade refreshments and a two course lunch will be provided.
