About

Spend three days under the watchful eye of Pip Hall learning how to carve in stone. You can choose either a relief carving or make the most of Pips outstanding skills in letter carving (her lettering can be wonderfully quirky if required) and let her help you to make either a house sign, or just a few words & pictures in relief. You can bring your own stone or use one that Pip provides for a small extra charge. All easels and tools are provided by Pip. We will be working outside in the Craft Garden, under cover as necessary. If the weather is dreadful we can retreat into a well lit but unheated barn.

Pip Hall is a nationally renowned professional Stone Carver of many years experience. Her work can be ween widely throughout the north of England as letter carving, poetry walks and beautiful additions to many of our favourite place, including the Stanza Stones on the North Yorks. Not only a wonderful craftsman, Pip's also a great tutor and has a brilliant creative eye for layout. She will help you set out your words and pictures so they look really professional - as well as teaching you how to carve them. She comes with stone carving equipment and easels for a whole class.
