Lake District Summer Music Festival 29 July - 7 August 2022 events will take place at various venues across the Lake District.From string quartets, jazz ensembles and solo recitals to family events, walks and the next generation of exciting young artists, there's so many new things to see, hear and experience.
Vaughan Williams plays a major role in the 2022 festival as we celebrate his astonishing music during the 150th anniversary of his birth, including an unmissable festival finale that we can't wait to share with you.
Composers and performers have long explored the limits of their art much as humans have climbed the highest mountains and ventured into the unknown - there's plenty of irresistible peaks and serene waters to discover in our scenic surroundings.
In 2022 we draw on this pioneering spirit headlined by an audio-visual expedition with mountaineer Stephen Venables (the first Briton to climb Everest without supplementary oxygen) and collaborations with the British Antartic Survey.
