Explore almost 400 years of the history of English Education from 1585 to 1909 with our 2024 exhibition. Learn how the curriculum, rules, past students and cultural changes impacted the Grammar School between the Elizabethan and Edwardian eras.
There is not only the educational aspect to explore but also the everyday lives of students, including William Wordsworth - the food they ate, the clothes they wore, and what they spent their money on at the market. Step back in time through this exhibition and experience the historical school environment that inspired one of England's most iconic Romantic Poets.
