About the Event
Difficulty Level: Introductory
Cost of tuition for the course: £120 per person (members £80), max 8 participants
This is a two day training event starting from Butarlyp Youth Hostel Grasmere, and partly on the fells including a high-level overnight camp. Participants will be guided and supported by a qualified and expert mountain leader. The course will cover best clothing and equipment, packing for an expedition, route choice and everything you need to know about camping out in the fells in the UK, including site choice, cooking a meal and camp safety and hygiene.
Participants should bring their own tent and camping equipment if possible, although equipment for the event can be borrowed from our store by pre-arrangement.
