Extreme Ghyll Scrambling in the Esk Gorge.
Ghyll Scrambling for adventurers! The ultimate all-day adventure - not for the faint-hearted!
Set in one of the most picturesque parts of the Lake District National Park in the upper Eskdale Valley. Remote, off the beaten track and accessed by a 45-minute walk, you'll be surrounded by towering mountains such as Scafell Pike and Bowfell. With this magnificent backdrop, you'll discover a fabulous playground of waterfalls, rocks and big jumps (up to 8 metres in height).
All jumps and scrambles are optional.
Minimum age of 14 and a reasonable level of fitness is required as this is a very physical day.
Other Ghyll Scrambling venues
We use a variety of other Ghyll Scrambling venues around Coniston, Langdale and Wasdale and have sessions to suit different ages. The minimum age is 5 for our young family sessions (Coniston and Langdale). We also offer family sessions from age 8 upwards and sessions for adults and families with older teenage children.
What we provide:
We provide all specialist safety equipment and you will be given a clean and dry full-length winter-thickness wetsuits and neoprene socks to keep you snug. Your expert guide knows the ghylls intimately and will tailor the day to your group offering up fun challenges along the way.
