About

Dating back over 350 years, Arcade Royale is a characterful self-catering cottage hidden within a cobbled courtyard just steps from Kirkby Stephen's Market Street in the heart of the Eden Valley. Originally part of a stable and carriage house, the property has been lovingly restored to combine its remarkable historic fabric with the comforts and conveniences modern travellers expect.

Inside, two well-appointed bedrooms sleep up to four guests. The principal room features a king-size bed with the signature Sleepeezee JESSICA Pocket and Gel Topper mattress, delivering the kind of deep, restorative sleep that makes a proper holiday. The second bedroom offers a comfortable European double, with both rooms dressed in quality linens throughout. A bright kitchen-diner with a full range of appliances is ideal for leisurely breakfasts or home-cooked suppers, while the sitting area with Smart TV and stereo makes for easy, relaxed evenings after a day out on the fells.

Arcade Royale is proudly dog-friendly, welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs — making it a natural choice for walking holidays and outdoor adventures. Step outside and Kirkby Stephen's independent shops, cafés and pubs are immediately at hand, with riverside walks accessible within minutes.

The cottage sits at the gateway to some of England's finest walking country. The Yorkshire Dales National Park begins on the doorstep, the Lake District is within easy reach, and the iconic Coast to Coast trail passes directly through the town. Whether you're planning a multi-day walking itinerary, a cycling tour of the Pennines, or simply a restorative break in a quietly beautiful market town, Arcade Royale offers a rare combination of authentic historic character, central location and genuine home-from-home comfort.

Street parking is available close by, with free long-stay car parks a short walk away.
