About

Come and visit us in the Tourist Information Centre for postcards, Ordnance Survey Maps, walking and cycling leaflets and books, local interest books, ideas for trips to local attractions and Free Parking Discs.

Whether you're coming for the day or staying for a holiday or break, you'll find a full range of places to eat and places to stay in Appleby and the surrounding area.

Appleby is well located for the road and rail networks. You can either use the A66 from Scotch Corner for North East England, Yorkshire and the East Midlands - this road passes Appleby and just follow the signs off it. Driving from Scotland you should reach the M6, joining the A66 at junction 36 (Penrith). People driving from North West England and the West Midlands can use the M6 to junction 38 (Tebay) where the B6260 will take you right into the town centre.
