With panoramic views of the Eden Valley and the Lake District Fells, our cottages provide the perfect base to explore some of the UK’s most breathtaking regions. From the cottages, a network of footpaths begins, with options ranging from a short stroll to the tranquil fells to a more energetic hike up Cross Fell. Our peaceful location offers stunning views of the Lake District Fells from our large gardens. The surrounding pastures are a haven for wildlife, including deer, squirrels, badgers, and a variety of bird species like buzzards and peregrine falcons.
Our four cottages are designed with your comfort in mind, offering cosy, well-furnished spaces that blend charm and practicality. We pride ourselves on maintaining them to the highest standards, ensuring your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Beck Cottage is a detached single-storey barn conversion beside a tumbling beck (stream) in its own wildlife garden. It has a wealth of beams and exposed stonework. The arched stone fireplace houses a glass-fronted wood burning stove in the open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The double bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom with shower over a bath. It is a dog friendly property.
Shearers Cottage is a former barn and is also dog friendly. The fireplace houses a glass-fronted wood-burning stove that gives a cosy glow to the cottage on a winter's evening. The open-plan lounge, farmhouse-style kitchen, and dining area lead via French doors onto a private south-facing patio and to the large communal gardens. To the side of the house, there is a private garden exclusively for the use of this cottage. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin- bedded room and a bathroom with shower over bath.
Formerly the stables for Clydesdale working horses, Stables Cottage also has a wealth of exposed beams and stonework. The oak-lintelled fireplace has a glass-fronted log-burning stove in the open-plan lounge. The farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area open onto a private south-facing patio and to the communal gardens beyond. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room and a bathroom with shower over bath.
The Haybarn has a huge sit-in fireplace with a glass-fronted, log-burning stove. The open-plan lounge, the well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen and the dining area have a wealth of exposed beams and stonework. The raised conservatory with views across the Eden Valley to the Lake District Fells opens onto a south-facing patio and to the communal gardens beyond. Upstairs there is a minstrels' gallery with a single sofa bed and three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a double bed and en-suite facilities with shower over bath. The second bedroom has twin beds (which if requested zip together to make a Superking-size bed) and the third bedroom has twin beds (which if requested zip together to make a King-size bed).
