About

The modern Temple for World Peace provides a place for quiet reflection and spiritual inspiration. It is used every day for meditation and prayers.
The design is a representation of Buddha's Pure Land and contains holy precious objects revealing the path to liberation and enlightenment. The centrepiece is a large statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Each year thousands of people visit the Temple to admire its artistic and architectural features and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. 'Just looking at the Temple with a happy mind brings inner peace' Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Guided Tours

Pre-booked school and group visits available Monday to Thursday - email visits@manjushri.org for information.

Gardens

Idyllically situated in gardens and woodland on the shores of Morecambe Bay. From the Bay there are scenic views across to Chapel Island, Morecambe and Lancaster, with the Lakeland hills and Yorkshire Dales in the distance. Many people come simply to relax in the beautiful surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. Pick up free guide to woodland walks to Morecambe Bay. Dogs are welcome.

World Peace Cafe in Conservatory

The World Peace Café at Conishead Priory is located in the beautiful sunny conservatory overlooking the south lawn. We have both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can relax either in the conservatory, on comfortable sofas in the lounge area, or outdoors in fine weather. The lawns are a great space for children to play.

You can enjoy fine tea and coffee, home-made soups and sandwiches, delicious cakes and scones, with vegan and gluten free offerings.

Gift Shop

Adjacent to the cafe the gift shop carries a wide range of unique high quality gifts. Most of the items are fairtade or locally made and the gifts on offer include meditation accessories, beautiful stationery, jewellery, food, drink, and clothing accessories.

Tharpa Bookstore

Manjushri KMC is the home of  Tharpa Publications, an international publishing company specialising in the works of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. To date, Tharpa has sold over a three quarters of a million of his books worldwide. While at the centre, be sure to visit the Tharpa Bookstore - situated in the Gift Shop - where you will find a comprehensive collection of books, CDs, prayer booklets, and cards.
