About

Over a century in the history of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Its place in the life of the valley is illustrated using relics, models, photographs and a video show. The railway's history as the oldest narrow-gauge line in England is carefully presented, from its origins as a means of transporting iron ore from Eskdale, the days of granite crushing to its current role as a very special passenger service. Exhibits include a steam locomotive, models, archive photographs and a 20-minute video.
