Back by popular demand! Step into a world of magic at The Beacon Museum!

Get ready to wave your wands, brew some bubbling potions and unleash your inner witch or wizard!

The Beacon School of Magic is back, bringing a spellbinding day of magical experiments, enchanting crafts and real-life magical creature encounters.

Perfect for young witches and wizards aged 3–10, this magical two-hour experience is packed with fun, wonder and a touch of wizardry!

Fancy dress is highly encouraged – prizes given to the best dressed!


Think you've got what it takes to graduate from The Beacon School of Magic? Come and prove it!


Please note:

⭐ Ticket includes 1 child and 1 adult. Please note that due to capacity, we can't allow additional adults. All attendees must have a ticket.

⭐Places are limited, so we advise to book quickly to avoid disappointment.

⭐Museum admission is not included in the ticket price. If you would like to visit the museum before/after the workshop, you will need to buy admission or show a valid annual pass.


⭐ Full payment required at time of booking. Any cancellations within 72 hours of the workshop, won't be issued a refund.


⭐ Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, AND adults must be accompanied by a child.

Road Directions

Travelling north from Millom and Muncaster, follow the A595 North. When approaching Whitehaven the Museum is signposted by brown AA heritage road signs.

Travelling South from Carlisle or across country from Penrith and Keswick, follow the A66 to Cockermouth which then joins the A595 straight through to Whitehaven. The one way system in the town centre, leads direct to the harbour and The Beacon Museum.

Public Transport Directions

Whitehaven is easily connected to by bus.
Whitehaven's train station is 15 minutes gentle stroll around the picturesque sea harbour, around to The Beacon Museum. A stunning journey with the train line hugging close to the coastline as it travels north to Carlisle and south to Barrow-in-Furness and Grange-over-Sands. Timetables can be found here.
