Created during her residency at Rosehill, Fragments of Belonging explores movement, migration, place, and belonging through painting and film.
At the heart of the project is a 30-minute essay film that brings together aerial imagery, performance, and poetic reflection. The film will run on a loop throughout the exhibition.
The large-scale triptych expands on the themes of the film, translating questions of movement, migration, and place into painted form. The exhibition also includes a selection of Anne Blankson-Hemans' paintings and work created in collaboration with members of the community through her residency workshops and community art projects.
The exhibition invites reflection on how belonging is shaped by history, memory, and the spaces we inhabit.
You can join us for the official launch of the exhibition at March's Art Social event, where there will be a screening of the film, and Anne will be available for a chat about her residency and exhibition.
