Shiver Me Timbers play area is a bright, colourful, and exciting destination for young visitors. Look out for this pirate-themed adventure play area next door to the Lake District Coast Aquarium on the Harbourside in Maryport.
Renovated towards the end of 2024, the much-loved wooden play equipment on the site had reached the end of its useful life, so it was replaced with a modern attraction for all the family to enjoy. Slides, swings, a zipwire, a see-saw and a roundabout are all on offer. It will get even more exciting in the warmer summer months when a new splash park is also featured.
The park’s nautically inspired design was also developed with accessibility in mind with special adaptations to equipment that allow all children to enjoy the space.
