Come for the day and get making! Workshops at Cowshed Creatives are based in a two storey barn conversion on our traditional Lakeland Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space and there is plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere Valley. Check out our website to see the full range of courses.
We work with professional artists and crafts people to create an exciting and varied programme, including traditional local crafts. Join us for a social day in a friendly, relaxed environment and nurture your own creativity. Treat yourself and master new skills!
Day workshops include a tasty 2 course lunch with home baked bread and cake and refreshments throughout the day. We like to finish the day with a cup of tea and slice of cake. Eat outside or enjoy lunch by the wood burner. Free parking available nearby.
Make it a special break and stay on the farm. We have luxury camping pods on site, dependant on availability.
Coming by public transport? You can get a train to Staveley (branch line from Oxenholme, the Lake District) and it is a 2 mile walk, 15 min bike ride or give us a weeks notice and we will pick you up.
Plan to deliver workshops for kids and families - setting up adult programme first.

From the A591 turn into Staveley and follow the road until you reach the village hall. Turn following the sign to Kentmere for 1 mile. The road turns right over a bridge. Ignore this and go straight on up Browfoot Lane, keeping left of the river, for about 2 miles. Goose Howe is the property before us. Four fields further, on the right, there's a sign on the right hand wall for Browfoot Farm. Turn in here. Down the drive; The Cowshed is ahead on the left, with the sign on the wall. For the car park take a right at the two red doors, past farm buildings and left just beyond the grey corrugated tin barn.Lifts can be arranged from Staveley Train Station. The nearest railway station is Staveley, which is 2 miles away.
