The guided walking tour of the fascinating and historic village Hawkshead with a Cumbria Blue Badge Tourist Guide begins near the main village car park. First you will see the historic and quaint 16th century Old Grammar School. We will then meander up the hill to visit the ancient church of St. Michael and All Angels, which dates back in parts to the 12th century. The church dominates the village, and inside your guide will point out several fascinating artifacts and features.

After visiting the church, the tour continues through the village's winding streets, lined with delightful shops, galleries, and cafes. Your guide will point out the National Trust Beatrix Potter Gallery and the history behind that building as well as many others.

Please be aware there are some steep streets and narrow pavements and indeed some areas where there are no pavements.  Dogs are welcome if they have good manners and kept on a short lead.

A suggested £3 donation to the church is not included within the guided tour fee.

Returns and refunds are not accepted without proof of purchase. If you have booked your ticket but can no longer attend, or you made an error during booking, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can refund/return your ticket and release it for someone else.
