Kirkwood Guest House in the Lake District is ideally positioned for exploring The Lakes. Situated between the two bustling towns of Windermere and Bowness we are ten minutes walk to the start of both towns.

Whether you are first time visitors, couples looking for short breaks, celebrating a special occasion or families on holiday, stay with us on your visit to the Lake District in Cumbria and you won't be disappointed. Because we enjoy walking and exploring we can give helpful advice about local walks and sightseeing around Windermere and throughout the Lake District and Cumbria. We can also offer advice for visits farther afield.

We have an excellent reputation for our hospitality providing first time visitors with detailed information using our local knowledge of the area to get the best from your visit to this beautiful part of England. We can tailor your day, offer you tips, whether you walk, drive or bus your way around the Lake District and Cumbria providing great sightseeing and photo opportunities.

Alternatively just chill! We are fortunate to have the best cafes and varied restaurants many providing award winning home made or local produce for your "re-fuelling" stops near and far! Our breakfast menu is very popular and flexible but let us know beforehand and we will try and get it for you.

TV with hearing assistance, menus in braille and large print, higher contrast cookery, hot liquid level indicator available, books on tape, brochure all available. Wireless internet access.

      Road Directions

      M6 jct 36, follow the signs for The Lakes, stay on A591 to Windermere. At Windermere pass the main intersection and take the next left turn after the pedestrian crossing. Carry on straight through the town past the shops. After the pedestrian crossing at the end of the shops count 4 turns to the left, take the fourth at the slate tower and then first right onto Princes Road, we are halfway up the road on the right.
