About
Here at Armidale Cottages B&B we are proud to be a Dark Sky friendly destination and our low level of light pollution offer wonderful views of the night sky.
We are situated close to the very tranquil Solway Coast National Landscape and ideally located for exploring the Western fells and Lakes. On-site, our 16th Century cottages offer plenty of outdoor space where our orchard provides a quiet, private location perfect for stargazing.
Our Dark Sky package is specially designed to ensure you are able to fully enjoy your stargazing experience. We provide use of a Sky-watcher telescope and comfortable outdoor seating, as well as blankets, hot water bottles, hot drinks and light snacks to help keep you warm during your evening of stargazing.
For an added touch of relaxation during your stay, you can also use make use of our Finnish Sauna before stargazing at a reduced price. We offer late check in slightly later check out (please contact to discuss) to give you flexibility around your stargazing experience.

Road Directions
Leave M6 at Penrith jct 40 and take A66 to Keswick. Follow directions for Cockermouth and at the Sheep and Wool Centre roundabout, first roundabout at Cockermouth, take the second exit straight across for Workington. At the second roundabout take the second exit for Maryport/Carlisle. At the third roundabout take the first exit for Maryport, A594. On this road go past The Ship pub on the right, go up the hill and round the bend, carry on the road widens and take the second turn off on the left for Seaton. You then come into Broughton Moor village. At the crossroads go straight across and keep going on this road and you come into Seaton. Go past the pub called The Coachman on the right and continue down the hill. The road becomes straight and we are on the left just after the white gate and opposite the new development called The Oaks on the right.
