About

The Coach House at Brackenthwaite Farm is a great choice for bookings of up to six people, but also works exceptionally well for groups of two or four. It sits in a courtyard aside Corner Cottage and these two can be booked together to accommodate up to ten people.

Access into the property is from designated parking available just outside the courtyard, making it exceptionally convenient for un/loading luggage, children, and/or dogs! The courtyard can also be made secure for children and dogs to play, though with its dedicated exercise and play areas, The Orchard at the front of the farm may be a preferred choice for both.

About Brackenthwaite Farm

Brackenthwaite Farm sits just south of The Lake District at Morecambe Bay on the border between the Cumbria South Lakes and Lancashire. Set within ten acres of land but within easy reach of Silverdale, Arnside, and beyond, Brackenthwaite Farm offers the perfect mix of ‘escape to the country’ with plenty of places to visit, explore, and eat, plus things to do, appreciate, and enjoy.

Road Directions

We hope you are looking forward to your stay with us.

To help you on your journey, please find below some useful information:

Address

Brackenthwaite Farm

Yealand Redmayne

LA5 9TE

Visitors from the South:

Leave the M6 motorway at Jn.35 and take the first exit onto A6070.

Visitors from the North:

Leave the M6 motorway at Jn.35 and take the third exit (right turn) onto A6070.

All visitors thereafter:

At the roundabout take the second exit to travel north along the A6 (sign posted Milnthorpe). At the next roundabout keep left to take the first exit (A6) then under the railway bridge. Continue along this road for approx. two miles until you pass an ESSO (Nisa Local) garage, which will be on your left. Take the first left approximately 100 meters after the garage signposted Arnside, Silverdale. The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis will be on your immediate left. Keep on this lane following the signs for ‘Brackenthwaite Holidays’. Finally, at the T-junction turn right onto Brackenthwaite Road.

Continue straight for a short distance and Brackenthwaite Farm will come into view on the right. Please note that the main entrance is about 100 meters before the buildings. If you pass the flagpole, you’ve gone too far and need to turnaround, which you can do at the end of the building on the right.

There are other routes to get to us, but we believe the above is the best way if you are on an unfamiliar journey. Other routes can lead you to challenging bridges, especially if you are coming in a larger vehicle or with horses.

You can also find us via Google Maps, but please be aware that sometimes the map places our marker on the opposite side of the road. If you follow our directions, Brackenthwaite Farm will be on your right.

If you get stuck en route, feel free to call us on 015395 63276.

Parking (unless travelling with horses):

Please use the main entrance that brings you to the rear of the farm where you will find visitor parking.

Once you pass the hens, make a slight left to where you will see your allocated parking for The Coach House. A second parking space is available in any of the remaining Visitor Parking bays.

To get to your property from here, pass through the sliding wooden door signposted to ‘The Courtyard and Properties’. At the opposite end and to the right of the entrance onto the road is the entrance to your property.

Note: you can drive into The Courtyard if you wish to unload your bags, but it is a tight fit and visibility getting back out onto the road is poor. We recommend using the main entrance.

The key safe code is: 1-9-8-6.

Your property will be available for you by 3pm.

Parking (when travelling with horses):

Please use the main entrance that brings you to the rear of the farm where you will find visitor parking.

Once arrived, please turn right to stop your vehicle and unload. Please do not block other vehicles from arriving/leaving.

Your horse/s can be moved to the first paddock immediately opposite the Bull Pen building that you have just driven past (unless otherwise directed). Please provide us with an estimated time of arrival (and updated as necessary) one of us will be looking out for you and on-hand to assist.

Once unloaded, please park next to The Bull Pen on the concrete ground where you will see signs for Visitor Parking (unless otherwise directed). You may need to park parallel to the building, which is fine. There is usually enough space to park two horse trailers side by side or one larger transportation vehicle.

To get to The Coach House from here, head through the wooden sliding door past the car parking bays for The Coach House and Corner Cottage, and into The Courtyard. At the opposite side of The Courtyard and to the right of the opening onto the road is the entrance to your property. The stables directly face your property.

Arrival with horses is available from midday, but please note that your property may not be ready until 3pm.

Likewise, please vacate your property by 10am on the day of leaving and the paddocks by 11am.

Many thanks. See you soon!

Matthew & Harry

BY RAIL There are two railway stations nearby: Silverdale: 2.3 miles Arnside: 2.7 miles From either of these you can travel north across Morecambe Bay to Grange over Sands, Ulverston and the west coast, into Windermere in the Lake District via Kendal, or to Penrith and Carlisle beyond. Travelling south you will reach Carnforth – the closest town – where you can also change if you’d like to travel into east Lancashire or onto Yorkshire, or continue on and change at the historic City of Lancaster to then travel into Morecambe or Heysham Port.
