About

Levens Hall is a Grade I Listed Elizabethan mansion built around a 13thC Pele tower. The much-loved home of the Bagot family, visitors often comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere. Fine panelling and plasterwork, period furniture, Cordova leather wall coverings, paintings by Rubens, Lely and Cuyp and the earliest English patchwork.  World’s oldest topiary garden dating from 1694, largely in its original design.

Levens Hall Gardens

A Grade I Listed garden dating from 1694, through a combination of circumstance and love the gardens at Levens Hall have survived in their original design. The topiary is some of the oldest in the world and justifiably famous. The garden also incorporates a small orchard of apple trees and medlars, a nuttery and herb garden, a bowling green, a rose garden, herbaceous borders and seasonal bedding.
To celebrate the partnership of Colonel James Grahme and his gardener Guillaume Beaumont, a fountain garden, bordered with pleached limes, was added in 1994, the garden’s 300th anniversary.

Levens Kitchen

With a strong focus on local produce, much sourced from Levens Hall Estate and the gardens themselves, Levens Kitchen is a fully licensed restaurant serving a seasonally inspired menu - morning coffees, brunches, lunches and afternoon teas.

Children's Play Area

A well-established children’s play area in the garden with challenging climbing and slides for children under 12 years and picnic tables for families. Please supervise your children while they are playing in this area.

Groups by prior arrangement. Regret the house has many steps and is therefore unsuitable for the infirm, disabled access to gardens only. Do not take American Express credit card.
