About

The Whitewater Hotel is the ultimate Lake district retreat, featuring the fantastic Cascades Leisure Club & Spa. Situated in the picturesque Lakeland Village, Backbarrow, just one mile south of the world famous Lake Windermere and nearby the Historic market town Ulverston. The hotel building itself is steeped in history; it was formally a Dolly Blue pigment factory making the world famous “Dolly Blue” and was also a Victorian cotton mill. Many artefacts have been preserved and the blue pigment is still evident throughout the building. The hotel today also includes an award winning restaurant. The 38 luxury en-suite bedrooms nearly all enjoy stunning riverside views. This hotel really is the ideal place to escape from the fast pace of life for a few days and the perfect location to discover the sights and delights of the South Lakes and Cumbria.

The fabulous Cascades Spa and Leisure Club consists of the large heated indoor pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, large gymnasium and even a squash court. On the top floor the Cascades Spa offers the finest treatments using Elemis and Jessica nails products as well as other well known brands. Spa facilities now include Turkish Hamam, Arabian Mud Rasul, feature showers, outdoor hot tub and massage pedicure chairs.

This fabulous hotel, providesan exceptional Lake District holiday location for weekendbreaks, finedining, conferenceand banqueting events and spatreatments. High standards and first class facilities adorn the spacious rooms in this stunning converted mill. Our elegant Riverside Restaurant offers British and International cuisine and serves local Lakeland produce. The stylish Dolly Blue bar & grill offers a less formal style of dining including bar snacks. This Dolly Blue bar & grill overlooks the river and beautiful countryside. Both dining venues are open every day.

The Riverside Lounge and Mezzanine provide a wonderful setting for afternoon tea or cocktails overlooking the fast flowing River and beautiful countryside. This tranquil setting is also a great location and venue to host corporate events. There are three good sized meeting rooms and great menus and delegate packages.

The Whitewater Hotel, Leisure Club & Spa truly is the perfect Lakeland retreat to feel revitalised, recharged and refreshed.
