Starting from the visitor centre, the Wood Moss Tarn route is about 5.5 miles (just under 9km) long and explores some of the quieter areas of the western side of the forest around Wood Moss tarn.
You need to be a member of Outdoor Mobility to hire. If you’re not an existing member, you can easily sign up online at www.outdoormobility.org.
All new members will be provided with an induction on how to use the scooter. Existing users will be offered a refresher. All information required will be passed over to the user through the booking process.
All uses must be booked online through the Outdoor Mobility website before your visit at www.outdoormobility.org.
The designated disabled car parking spaces are in our main visitor centre car park. They are approximately 150 metres from the Visitor Centre building. This is mostly flat but has a gentle incline on a mix of tarmac and gravel surface. If you feel you are not able to access using this route please contact us before your visit and we will provide alternative access and parking options to suit your circumstances.
The usual arrival time for booking is 11am. If you’d like to arrange a different arrival time, please contact us before your visit and we’ll do our best to arrange a different time.
