About

We're Brockhole on Windermere set right on the shores of the lake and we are incredibly proud to be at the heart of the spectacular Lake District National Park - a New UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Brockhole on Windermere is the perfect Lakeland destination for all the family to enjoy. Keep everyone entertained with plenty of activities around our grounds and in the house; try your hand at archery, discover our faerie trail, and race around in our Krazi Karts. For those wanting to get out on the lake, we have motor boats for hire as well as kayaks, paddleboard, and rowing boats.

When you’re starting to feel peckish we’ve got the perfect treat for you. Savour brilliant Cumbrian flavours in our café, or grab a bite to eat in our Lakeshore café or Potting Shed café. For those wanting something special, why not treat yourself to lunch in The Gaddum.

Stay in the house and discover The Lake District Story exhibition, taking you on a journey through the past and present of our beautiful National Park. Pop upstairs to the Gaddum Gallery to see what local artists can create in our inspirational landscape. Don’t forget to visit our shop before leaving where you’ll find great products from local producers. The perfect gift, or perhaps a treat for yourself?

Fancy a wind down after an action packed day? Immerse yourself in nature in our Thomas Mawson designed gardens, with views overlooking the lake and the iconic fells beyond.

As we are owned by the Lake District National Park Authority, every penny spent at Brockhole goes back in to protecting the National Park for the future.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
