Espaliers, cordons and fan-trained apple and pears are best pruned during August – join this workshop with the garden team at Acorn Bank to learn why and how to carry out this important task.
Acorn Bank's apple collection comprises 175 different apples, mostly heritage cultivars or those that cope with our cool damp climate. 110 of these are trained as cordons, in addition to 4 espaliered pears and 1 espaliered apple, which makes summer pruning a big part of our work schedule in August!
