About
Graythwaite Adventure provides award winning outdoor adventure experiences on the 5,000-acre private estate on the shores of Lake Windermere. Tim and Sara, owners of Graythwaite Adventure, have both been in the corporate events industry since the 1990s, designing and delivering events, meetings, conferences, team building programmes, exhibitions, festivals and product launches throughout the UK and overseas. Firmly settled where they both grew up, in the Lake District, they are keen to share their event planning expertise to any companies or organisations planning events in the county.
The estate provides an ideal setting for those clients wanting to include the great outdoors in their programme, whether it be some friendly competition in archery, axe throwing and clay pigeon shooting, some extreme driving on the 4x4 course, bringing the team together in the ancient woodland at the bushcraft base to learn the essentials of outdoor survival or out on the water. From a boardroom under canvas accessible only by Land Rover to support with a TV or film project to delivering a multi-day programme that includes collaborations with a range of local partners; hotels, transport, restaurants, off-site activities, partner programmes and evening functions, our meticulous planning and attention to detail makes us the ideal event partner in Cumbria.

Road Directions
From Ambleside (The North) - Continue along the B5825 until you reach Hawkshead. From Hawkshead, follow signs towards Newby Bridge. Stay on this road for roughly 5 miles. En-route you’ll pass Esthwaite Water on your left then the Graythwaite Sawmill on your right before passing the entrance to Graythwaite Hall which is also on your right. Continue for approximately 150m. Our entrance gate is on your left and marked with Graythwaite Adventure signs either side of the entrance. Please turn into the field and follow the track to our car park. If you miss the gate and reach the main entrance to Graythwaite Hall, please turn around.
From Newby Bridge (The South) - Follow signs towards Lakeside, YMCA Centre and Hawkshead and continue on the B5825. You’ll pass the YMCA Centre on your right then the driveway to Silverholme Manor then the main entrance to Graythwaite Hall which will be on your left. After a few hundred yards you’ll reach our entrance gate on the right with Graythwaite Adventure signs either side. Please turn into the field and follow the track to our car park.
From the Windermere Car Ferry - When you disembark the ferry continue on the road until you come to the first left turning, just before a white and black sign for Far Sawrey. Take this turning and follow the road for approx. 2.9 miles. At the end you’ll reach a T junction. Turn right. Follow the road for 0.2 miles and the entrance to our site will be on your right with Graythwaite Adventure signs either side of the gate. Please turn into the field and follow the track to our car park.
