Dave Day is a vibrant celebration of the life of Hairy Biker Dave Myers, held in his home town of Barrow-in-Furness. After its inaugural event in 2024, thousands of bikers once again headed in 2025 to the Cumbrian town where Dave Myers grew up, in honour of his life. In 2025 the Dave Day festival took place over the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June and featured a remembrance procession beginning in London, and celebrations in Barrow-in-Furness throughout the weekend. Read on to see what happened and get inspired to explore more of the area in celebration of Dave Day 2025.
Saturday saw a charity concert take place at Barrow Town Hall. Food stalls were onsite to keep concert goers refuelled.
On Sunday, a motorcycle stunt show and exhibition took place in Barrow’s town centre. There was also a food festival, free family entertainment, a charity football match, health & wellbeing festival and celebration dinner at The Dunes hotel to close the weekend.
The Dock Museum has an exhibition dedicated to the Hairy Biker. It opened on 20th June 2025, to coincide with Dave Day. “Dave - A Barrow Lad” honours the life of the popular TV personality - and Barrow local - with a showcase of personal items from throughout his life. On display are pieces like his motorcycle kit, Strictly Come Dancing shoes, his mum’s pie dish, and plenty more. The exhibition will run until 5th October so there’s plenty of time to enjoy it.
For one week only, the museum was renamed The Dave Museum in honour of the Hairy Biker.
