Dave Day is a vibrant celebration of the life of Hairy Biker Dave Myers, held in his home town of Barrow-in-Furness. After its inaugural event in 2024, thousands of bikers once again headed in 2025 to the Cumbrian town where Dave Myers grew up, in honour of his life. In 2025 the Dave Day festival took place over the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June and featured a remembrance procession beginning in London, and celebrations in Barrow-in-Furness throughout the weekend.
Dave Day 2026 will be the third and final Dave Day. Dubbed ‘The Last Ride Home’ by organisers, this hugely popular ride out in memory of Dave Myers will take place on 20th June 2026.
Thousands of motorcyclists are expected to make the pilgrimage to Dave's hometown of Barrow, in honour of the much-loved Hairy Biker. Over the last two years tens of thousands of bikers have taken part in the event – and thousands more are expected to take part this year.
Team Barrow is the sponsor for the event, which raises money for some of Dave’s favourite charities and provides a platform for Barrow on a national stage.
The official ride starts from Ace Café in London, a mecca for motorcyclists, with bikers joining up all along the route before converging on Barrow.

There are some great accommodation options in and around Barrow in Furness, from the Holiday Inn Express in the town centre to the luxurious Abbey House Hotel & Gardens and The Dunes Hotel near Roanhead.
If you’re looking for something to do around Barrow, you’ll be spoilt for choice! There’s plenty to explore in the town Dave Myers once lived in. As well as the special Dave Myers exhibition, the free to enter Dock Museum is also home to exhibitions highlighting the Furness area’s shipbuilding history and heritage. There’s nature and wildlife on the South Walney Nature Reserve (keep an eye out for special events run by Cumbria Wildlife Trust), and walking routes like the Cistercian Way - which begins / ends at Piel Castle - and the King Charles III English Coast Path. You can also enjoy live music and theatre at venues across the town.
