Fans, the world’s best teams, and a global audience will descend on our region as the world's biggest race comes to Great Britain.
A Stage One finish in Carlisle and a Stage Two start in Keswick will both feature in the 2027 Tour De France, with the opening stage of the men's Tour de France travelling from Edinburgh to Carlisle on Friday 2 July 2027, before Stage Two travels from Keswick on Saturday 3 July 2027 - through the Lake District and Lancashire to finish on The Strand in Liverpool the same day.
With over 120 years of history, the men’s Tour de France is the world’s largest annual sporting event. You don’t need a ticket to attend – so you can enjoy the spectacular sight of the world’s best professional teams and riders racing through Cumbria’s beautiful landscapes free of charge.
The event promises to be an incredible, colourful spectacle featuring a family friendly atmosphere. Look out for the famous ‘publicity caravan’, which will put on a show ahead of each race, handing out gifts and entertaining fans along the route!
Cumbria is home to stunning countryside, making this an incredibly scenic part of the 2027 event. We look forward to welcoming teams, riders and fans to experience our beautiful area.
Britain will host three stages of racing as a part of the men’s 2027 Tour de France, which will take place between Friday 2 and Sunday 4 July.
On Friday 2 July, the route will travel from Edinburgh to Carlisle. On Saturday 3 July, the route will travel through the Lake District National Park from Keswick to Liverpool via places like Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Milnthorpe.
The third stage will then travel from Welshpool to Cardiff on Sunday 4 July.
