Looking for an alternative Halloween event? Join us after dark for tales of eldritch creatures, haunted forests, mad scientists and vampires.

We'll first meet in our beautiful library where you will discover the haunting story of how Mary Shelley's Frankenstein came to be and see the first edition of this iconic work – the most famous Gothic novel and the first modern science fiction novel in the English language. After this we will make our way to candlelit Dove Cottage for spooky readings from Frankenstein and other Gothic tales, accompanied by some autumnal treats…

We encourage you to get into the spirit and dress for the occasion! This event is designed for adults – for our family Halloween event, please see Twilight Tales in Dove Cottage.

Your ticket includes hot cordial and cake. Vegan and gluten-free options available on request.
