About

At the heart of Gilpin is a very passionate family and team, dedicated to creating lasting memories for their guests, who return time and again for celebrations and escapes. With five red stars, one Michelin Star and three AA Rosettes, warmth and friendliness are balanced with extraordinary service, exquisite décor and stunning culinary experiences at these two luxury country houses spanning two estates in the beautiful Lake District.

Dine in either the Michelin-starred main restaurant, SOURCE at Gilpin Hotel, where Ollie Bridgwater combines exquisite produce, distinct flavours, seasonality, sustainability, and precision, together with exceptional service, to create a fun, fine dining experience, or in ‘Gilpin Spice’ an informal restaurant transcending international boundaries, with an open kitchen focussing on dishes from the spice trail spanning the Indian sub-continent, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan and China.  In the picture-perfect setting of Gilpin Lake House enjoy the quintessentially British teatime tradition of their 'Posh Scran' afternoon tea

At Gilpin Hotel all 30 bedrooms have lovely Lakeland views, most leading directly onto the gardens – All 6 Junior Suite and 6 Garden Suites have decked or slate patios with their own outdoor hot tubs, 5 Spa Lodges have their own ensuite spa (rainmaker showers and steam rooms inside, hydrotherapy hot tubs and saunas outside), and 5 even bigger Spa Suites (a bedroom ‘floating’ over the pond with views to the mountains; a living area with lounge, dining table & bar, huge circular stone bath and a double shower; a fabulous spa room with sauna, steam room, infrared lounge bed, a state-of-the-art automated massage chair; and of course a huge hot tub outside). Just a mile away at Gilpin Lake House, with only six bedrooms, exudes the charm of a country retreat while offering all the amenities of a boutique hotel. Whether you’re unwinding by the fireside in the lounge, soaking in one of our hot tubs with a glass of Champagne, or taking a dip in the pool, the breathtaking views inspire a deep sense of peace and tranquillity.

Guests have free use of the local leisure club, 4.9 miles away, with a swimming pool, gym, and sauna. Treatments are available at the Jetty Spa Lake House (for Gilpin Lake House residents only).
