Our two fully equipped camping pods. The Mallard and The Pheasant are located 5 mins from Junction 36, off the M6 on a peaceful secluded site on our smallholding Mountain View, Gatebeck. 10 Mins from Kendal and 15 mins from Kirkby Lonsdale. An excellent gateway to the Lakes and the Dales. Open All Year round.
The Pods are ideal for first time campers, with raised platform beds, mattresses. Bedding can be provided (or bring your own sleeping bags), table, chairs. Full Cooking equipment, camping stove, gas, pans, cutlery, crockery, washing up facilities. Heated, electric lighting, USB, charger & kettle for that all important brew to sit back and admire the, distant view of the Coniston Fells & the Langdale Pikes. A raised firepit, to toast those marshmallows, whilst chillaxing and switching off from the busy world, you may have left behind.
If you are cycling, walking or exploring no need to bring anything to have an outdoor camping experience in comfort, under the stars with the most magical sunsets.
Each pod sleeps up to 2 adults & 2 children. Or 3 Adults. Various sleeping arrangements can be catered for, very flexible. Well behaved dogs and horses are very welcome at this previous game keeper’s cottage, with access to a private field for exercise. Plenty of secure Car Parking adjacent to your Pod. Also, cyclists are extremely welcome with lock up and wash down facilities, for your bikes, plus drying facilities, for those wet days.
A choice of local produce hampers are available, by pre ordering before your arrive to experience ‘’Pod & Breakfast’’ to cook your own outdoors- The Full Cumbrian Hamper -bacon, sausage, black pudding, tomatoes (from the greenhouse) eggs from our own hens. Bread from the local bakery and milk, from the village farm, in Endmoor. Or the Westmorland Hamper with Croissants – local honey, jams and preserves, yoghurts & fruit. Each Hamper feeds 4 people or 2 people, two breakfasts.

Directions from M6, Exit Jct 36
From the exit roundabout, off M6 Motorway, if travelling from the south or travelling from the north, follow the signs to Kirkby Lonsdale. At the first roundabout, take the A65 sign post to Kendal.
Drive past the Crooklands Garage on your right, under the motorway bridge. Continue along the A65, past the Crooklands Hotel on your right. Enter the village of Endmoor, turn right in front of the clock on the green, then immediately left along Gatebeck road, past the village hall & tennis courts, along Gatebeck Road, until you come to a T junction, past the bus stop. Turn right onto Gatebeck Lane, at the cross roads, turn left. Drive through the hamlet of Gatebeck. Turn immediately right, at the end of the village, sign post to Crosslands & High Bracken Hall. A very narrow lane, up a steep hill past Canny Brow on your left, past Mount Pleasant on your right. Mountain View Camping Pods are at the next gateway entrance at the rear of Mountain View house on the right.
