About
Wheatlands Lodge-Windermere has been serving guests from all over the world for over twenty five years. We took over the mantle in December 2019 just over five years ago. We welcome guests not just from the UK but from all over the world including guests from the U.S., Australia, Europe, China, Japan and India . Our typical customer profile is adult couples looking to explore the wider Lakes as well as local restaurants and bars.
Windermere train station is only 10 minutes walk and this provides a great location for visitors using public transport to travel. International travellers will visit the Lakes while touring the UK, often visiting places of historic interest. We are now a wedding venue and Mike one of the owners is a celebrant. This attracts guests who are looking for small intimate venues to conduct a broad range of ceremonies including renewal of vows , weddings and engagements. We have beautiful gardens and are located in a quite residential lane yet central to Windermere village just minutes walk from all the amenities and less than one mile from Lake Windermere.
After taking over the guest house in 2019 we started what was a significant refurbishment re-designing and updating every part of the property. We refreshed and modernised all the rooms and public areas bringing what was a dated offer to what it is today. During the first few years we applied for and achieved a premises licence and a wedding licence.
